Pretty much what I'm thinking right now, but by better writers than me:

An article from 1984 about Michael Jackson.

Different author, same publication, article from today.

As of last Thursday, I am 28 years old. @_@

This one's for [info]shardavarius: Spiderman Rescues Boy

Been watching Scrubs on Comedy Central a lot lately. Mmm, frequently shirtless Zach Braff and and Donald Faison. Plus it's funny!

For anyone who's been hiding under a rock the last few weeks and somehow missed it, here's Jon Stewart vs. Jim Cramer (the unedited version):

To name a few:

- Colin Powell, who has some great stuff to say about the Republican party's demonization of Arabs and Muslims. Here is the photo slideshow of soldiers and their families that Powell refers to.

- Christopher Buckley, son of the late William F. Buckley. Christopher has since had to leave the magazine that his father founded.

- Andrew Sullivan was supporting Obama almost a year ago, well before he won the Democratic nomination. Here's one of his more recent articles.

- Right-wing radio host Michael Smerconish, who worked with the George H.W. Bush administration and has subbed for Bill O'Reilly on occasion. More from Smerconish here.

- The Chicago Tribune, which has never before in its 160-year history endorsed a Democrat for president.

- The Los Angeles Times, which hasn't endorsed any presidential candidate since Nixon.

- The Denver Post, which backed Bush in 2004.

- The Salt Lake Tribune, which also backed Bush previously.

- The Houston Chronicle, also backed Bush in '04.

I'm a huge news junkie these days - my addiction started with politics, since for the first time in eight years we have a presidential candidate who I'm really interested in. Then the housing market tanked, the stock market followed, and we were faced with the possibility of Great Depression II: This Time YOU'RE History. I started studying up on economic issues, trying to figure out how we got into this mess and what to do about it, and now I have lots and lots of links to share.
